Nomination for “Pandora” award

Cultural fund supporting and developing doll art “World Dolls” presents an annual nomination for “Pandora” award – the award for talents diversity to creative people who have brightly shown themselves in different spheres of professional activity connected with doll art: creating works of art, collecting, tutorship, restoration, publishing, organizational work, art history, pedagogy, journalism, – often combining some of them.

“Pandora” is a Greek word meaning “gifted with everything”. Exactly for such highly talented people working successfully in different brunches, creating professional and wonderful works (dolls, books, exhibitions, projects) in the dolls art sphere the “Pandora” award is meant.

What corresponds to this award concept completely is the work of a doll-maker who genially combines art intuition and talents of a sculptor, a painter, a wig-maker, a jeweler and a designer.

The “Pandora” award is thought to be a site for discussion about further ways of development for the doll art and projects connected with it, about its role in the culture of the ХХI century, about new forms of representation.
